Glenn gould|Monday TV: Remembering Glenn Gould|Blake Edwards:The fascinating biographical film "The Inner Life of Glenn Gould" premiering this week on "American Masters" (WGBY, Channel 57, 9 p.m.; CPTV, 10 p.m.), shows how the innovative and exciting classical pianist Glenn Gould to be just as famous for being eccentric as for his marvelous technique. But the strength of the film is that his former teachers take time to show how his approach to his instrument and to classic works of the past differed so much from all others.
It helps that there were a lot of creative films made about Gould over the years to help illustrate his unusual story - and plenty of great music, of course.
The death of the director Blake Edwards, who died Dec. 15 at the age of 88, brings a change to the schedule of Turner Classic Movies, featuring some of his best loved films, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (8 p.m.), "Days of Wine and Roses" (10 p.m.), "The Pink Panther" (midnight) and "Victor/Victoria" (2 a.m.).
In a Big East basketball opener, it's UConn at Pittsburgh (ESPN2, 8:30 p.m.).

Sugarloaf Chairlift Accident:There is word out of Maine of a cable derailment at Sugarloaf in Maine. AP is quoting Sugarloaf spokesman Ethan Austin as saying there have been injuries when several chairs on that lift came down. The chairlift is being evacuated and injuries are being assessed and responded to by the Ski Patrol.
