The Regulatory Oversight and Gaming Committee approved the measure this month and referred it to the chamber's Appropriations Committee. The legislation would require state lottery officials to implement a system that would allow people to buy tickets via the Internet, e-mail, text messaging or other electronic methods.
The last Mega Millions winner was more than a month ago, yet unclaimed, when someone in Ohio won $25-million.
According to megamillions.com, the last Mega million winners from New Jersey were Linda and John Feeney of Passaic County of the $12 million jackpot from the drawing held on September 25, 2007. The Feeneys came forward at Fontantarosa's Grocery & Deli to stake their claim to their lottery jackpot.

The New Jersey Lottery announced December 20, 2010, that two $250,000 winning Mega Millions lottery tickets were purchased for the Friday, December 17th Mega Millions drawing.

"One of the winning tickets was sold in Mercer County, and was purchased at Deli Delite II, located at 2325 Spruce Street in Ewing. The other lucky ticket was sold in Middlesex County at Quick Chek #72, located at 475 Rahway Avenue in Woodbridge. For selling these tickets, they will each receive a bonus check for $500. They have become two of the Lottery's most recent 'lucky locations' overnight," reported the New Jersey Lottery.
